I am a psychiatrist, and an Alumnus of both the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, and the West African College of Physicians.
I also hold certificates from the University of Washington, in Leadership and Management in Health; as well as from the World Bank Group, in Basic Health Economics.
I have a firm belief in the words of the former United Nation’s Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, that says that there is no health without mental health.
I am presently, the Director at the Department of Health Services, Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri Imo State, as my primary duty, and I also serve as a consultant psychiatrist to hospitals in my spare time.
To widen the reach of mental health awareness, I speak on different radio stations and television shows when invited. I also air my views on mental health topics on different print media. I am also invited to speak on different conferences on mental health topics.
I give educational lectures in psychiatry to members of the Nigerian Medical Association, Imo State branch, whenever I am invited to do so during their Continual Medical Education (CME).
I also publish articles on my blog at docbrainmatters.com to further educate people on brain and mental health issues, so that people could enjoy a good quality of life.
